The Brooklyn Museum announced that they’ll be reopening their doors on September 12th, tagged with the confirmation of a massive KAWS survey, opening February 2021. Featuring over 100 works under the exhibition title WHAT PARTY, it’s slated to include furniture, bronze works, and paintings, with the museum’s large-scale versions of his wooden Companion sculptures Along The Way set to make a return to the floor.
In typical KAWS fashion, not long after the artist announced a new army of limited edition Chum sculptures would be available for purchase under the same name as the upcoming Brooklyn Museum show. Quietly released on September 1st, they have, of course, all sold out. With five different colours, and originally marked at 260 USD a piece, keep an eye for these fluorescent friends on the resale market.
