Our Experience

Moniker Projects champions artistic movements embedded in urban culture and public art. Our expertise within the contemporary art sector, and our strong relationships with artists, clients and creatives are key to our direction and success. As an arts consultancy, we offer informed and financially savvy advice for private collectors looking to start or expand their contemporary art collections. From sourcing and acquiring artworks to framing and presentation, our commitment to the growth of a vibrant and healthy creative scene has shaped what we do and how we do it.

Our passion and interest in alternative subcultures and aesthetics was integral to the development of Shoreditch’s art scene, providing multiple platforms for urban and outsider art forms. In 2010, director Frankie Shea founded, funded, and produced the first annual art fair of its kind, uniquely exhibiting works with roots in urban culture, street-art, and graffiti. The inaugural event drew an attendance of 5,000, which grew to more than 14,000 in the forthcoming years. Shea sold Moniker Art Fair in 2016, and has since organised exhibitions at various galleries and UK institutions, supplemented by a rich array of talk programmes, film screenings and commissions such as Living Walls – an ambitious, large scale, public art project for London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Continuing with our philosophy of accessibility in the arts, through acquisitions, sales and education, at Moniker Projects we’ve refined our practice, focusing on a handful of artists whose work we’re passionate about. With a wealth of experience curating and producing ambitious contemporary exhibitions, brand campaigns, large-scale public art installations, as well as programming workshops, film screenings and talks, Moniker Projects is committed to its role in fostering continued growth within the arts.
