Long-time friend of Moniker Projects Sickboy brings his Fair Warning to London with a new body of work exploring post-war optimism, cultural transformation and an uncertain future. Following the first Fair Warning exhibition in Norfolk, deliberately launched in a provincial setting, contemporary British artist Sickboy brings the project to London for a new, independently produced solo show at Studio 223, his first solo exhibition in the capital in a decade.

Fair Warning London, continues Sickboy’s longstanding exploration of how periods of adversity can generate creativity, resistance and cultural change. Taking the original premise of Fair Warning; positivity out of adversity. The London exhibition focuses on the cultural and economic forces that emerged in the decades following the Second World War, and asks what they can tell us about the moment we are living through now. Sickboy has focused that narrative around the relationship between Japan and the United States in the post-war era; two cultures transformed by conflict, reconstruction, consumerism and technological acceleration, whose creative output would go on to influence generations around the world.
